Patna: A temple priest has been shot dead in Bihar’s Rohtas district, police said on Friday.
Prawin Das, attached to the Ravidas temple in Sakhra village, was murdered on Thursday night.
“Some locals said that an old dispute related to the temple land may be a factor behind the killing,” a police officer said.
Separately, a CBI judge who sentenced former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad in a corruption case has applied for a licence to obtain a revolver along with his family members.
Shivapal Singh sent Lalu Prasad on Jan.6 to three-and-a-half-years imprisonment.
Singh, his son and daughter have applied for the licence. The application is in the process, official sources said on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Ranchi District Bar Association on Thursday decided to boycott the court of the CBI judge. The Bar was unhappy as Singh allegedly denied time to a lawyer in a Ranchi court whose father had died.
