Panipat chowk to be named after Aggarsen
Chandigarh:Haryana Government has decided to rename Sector-12, Panipat chowk as Maharaja Aggarsen Chowk. A proposal to this effect has been approved by Chief Minister Manohar Lal.
CM approves property transfer
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has accorded approval for the transfer of properties, interests in properties, rights and liabilities from Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) for publication of notification in terms of sub-section 46 of GMDA Act, 2017 of Transfer Scheme.
HPSA announces awards
Chandigarh: Haryana Panjabi Sahitya Akademi on Friday announced various awards for outstanding contribution in the field of Punjabi literature for the year 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Akademi spokesperson said that Haryana Punjabi Gaurav Award, carrying a cash component of Rs 2.5 lakh each, for year 2013, would be presented to Atamjit Hanspal, for year 2014 to Kadarnath Kedar, for year 2015 to Dr Ramesh Kumar and for year 2016 to Dr Amrit Kaur Raina. Bhai Santokh Singh Award would be conferred upon Dr Pal Kaur and Jagir Kaur Sandhu for 2013, Dr Sahib Singh Arshi for 2014, Dr Sudarshan Gaso for 2015 and Joginder Kaur Agnihotri for 2016. It carries a cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh.
Health camp for Jail inmates at Burail Jail
Chandigarh:Chandigarh Health Department, in collaboration with Model Jail (Department of Prisons and Correctional Administration) UT, Chandigarh, has flagged off three-day health-cum-screening camp under National Health Mission Camp for Jail Bandhus at Model Jail, UT, Chandigarh from January 17 to 19. The camp was inaugurated by Inspector General of Prisons, Chandigarh, Dr OP Mishra. Specialists from Health Department examined all jail bandhus above the age of 30 years. Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) risk profiling, that is for hypertension, diabetes and obesity for all jail bandhus above the age of 30 years are being conducted along with oral cancer screening.
IAE Award for Shoolini University
Solan: Shoolini University’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has been selected to receive the International Arch of Europe (IAE) Award in the Gold category. The award would be presented to the University at the international Business Initiatives Directions (BID) Quality Ceremony to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, on March 18 next. Varsity’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said that the award was a recognition of the efforts for carrying out serious research and development in the University.
EU Ambassador invites city’s students
Chandigarh: The Ambassador of the European Union to India Tomasz Kozlowski participated in an international conference titled ‘EU Day’, organized by the Department of Defence and National Security Studies at the Panjab University, on Friday and invited the students, researchers and faculty members to take full advantage of various types of scholarship and funding opportunities available under EU-funded programmes for higher education and research such as Erasmus+, Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions, the Jean Monnet programme and Horizon 2020.
