Police: Man kills himself after standoff with SWAT team
GWINNETT COUNTY - A standoff with an armed man in Gwinnett County ended Saturday morning with him taking his own life.
The violence started just after midnight on Glenbrook Drive in Tucker.
Police say the victim, Crystal Bell, was able to call 911 after being shot once in the chest and once in the arm.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and Bell was transported to a local area hospital still conscious and alert. Her condition is unknown.

Officers determined the suspect, described as Bell's neighbor, was still in the area. They secured arrest warrants for the unidentified man.
With SWAT members surrounding the area, he then exited his home about seven hours later with a gun and attempted to flee through backyards, police said. He then shot himself. No officers were hurt or involved in the shooting.
The investigation now begins into what sparked the violence and into the gunman's past. Police say they discovered ammunition inside the residence.
