Law enforcers arrested at least 10 robbers with lethal weapons and arms from two districts- Tangail and Comilla, in two days.
TANGAIL: Police arrested five robbers with lethal weapons from Sahadebpur playground under Kalihati Upazila here early Thursday.
The arrested are: Selim Uddin alias Ashraf, 45, son of late Moydan Ali, of Daobhanga Village under Sadar Upazila, Russell Mahmud Sobuj alias Nayan, 28, son of Salam Talukder, of Boroghona Village, Mehedi Hasan alias Shukkur, of Betkandi Village, Nur Islam, 20, son of A. Samad, of Ramkantapur Village, and Rashedul Islam alias Russell, 27, son of Abdus Salam, of Mahmudpur Bhangry Village under Ullahpara Upazila in Sirajganj District, and Nazim Uddin, 38, son of late Golap Bepary, of Bautia Village under Dhamrai Upazila in Dhaka District.
Officer-in-Charge of Kalihati Police Station Mir Mosharraf Hossen confirmed the incident.
COMILLA: The Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested five alleged robbers with arms from Shashangachha area under Sadar Upazila here on Wednesday.
The arrested are: Ashik, 30, Arif, 27, and Ilias, 35, of Shashangachha area, Salauddin Tipu, 22, of Muradnagar Upazila in Comilla District, and Ali Nur alias Sujan, 25, of Chhagalnaiya Upazila in Feni District.
A DB police team led by Sub-Inspector Shah Kamal arrested the robbers while they had been preparing to commit robbery in the said area on that day.
Police also recovered one pipegun loaded with one round of bullet, two daggers and some local weapons at that time.
A case was filed in this connection.
