KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has never issued membership cards for the Malaysian Ex-Police Association (PBPM) Welfare and Service Programme to foreign nationals, said its Head of Corporate Communications Datuk Asmawati Ahmad (pix).
She said Bukit Aman had detected ownership of the card among foreign nationals in the country.
PDRM has never given any endorsement for the issuing of the cards to foreigners and is now investigating if the card has been used for unlawful purposes, she said.
She said the PBPM card was issued to verify that the holders were enrolled in the programme, which is organised by PBPM with two other local entities.
The card is not a form of identification document, she added. — Bernama
