Delaware State Police are investigating after the discovery near Mount Friendship Road north of Brenford Road.
The Delaware State Police are conducting a death investigation after human skeletal remains were located near Smyrna.
On Friday, Jan. 19 at about 1:30 p.m., detectives responded to Mount Friendship Road north of Brenford Road for the investigation.
Detectives have discovered human skeletal remains which have been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the identity and cause of death.
"This case remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police and further information will be released when it becomes available," said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe.
