Mumbai Crime: 24-year-old masturbating pervert arrested at Marine Drive

Mumbai: On Friday night at Marine Drive promenade a 34-year-old woman nabbed a pervert who was looking at her and masturbating. The Marine Drive police have arrested the accused, he has been identified as Rupak Akshad, 24-year-old man. He will be produced in court today.

The woman was with her friends at the the Queens Necklace, near Intercontinental Hotel around 10pm. It was then the victim noticed a man staring at her, at first she ignored him. Later, she noticed he was not only stalking but also masturbating.

The woman immediately nabbed the pervert and called upon the police.”I immediately raised an alarm and nabbed the pervert. We called the police who were on patrolling duty and handed him over to them. They were very cooperative,” the woman said to Mid-Day.

Sub-inspector Anil Rajput said to Mid-Day, “He claims he is from Odisha and works in Mumbai as a labourer. He has been booked under Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act to insult modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and will be produced in court on Saturday.”
