Doon denizens spend hours under Sun to beat chill

While the climate would remain dry in the State on Saturday, the weather would change from Tuesday with possibility of rain in some parts of the State for the next few days since Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the day being sun-washed, the denizens of Dehradun spent hours under sun to beat the chill. The parks in the city also saw throng of people who enjoyed the sun-kissed morning hours. 

Met centre director Bikram Singh said that the climate remained dry on Friday and the same would prevail on Saturday too. “However, a fresh western disturbance is approaching under whose impact it might rain in some areas on  January 23,” he said.

On Friday, the max and minimum temperatures were recorded at 24.8 degree Celsius, five notches above the normal, and 6.3 degree Celsius, normal, respectively in Dehradun. In Pantnagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23.8 degree Celsius, four notches above the normal, and 2.0 degree Celsius, four notches below the normal, respectively. In Mukteshwar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 20.8 degree Celsius, eight notches above normal, and 6.7 degree Celsius, five notches above the normal. In Tehri, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 18.8 degree Celsius and 7.2 degree Celsius respectively.

Singh said that the weather forecast for Dehradun on Saturday is mainly clear sky.  The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 24 degree Celsius and 7 degree Celsius respectively.
