PROVIDENCE -- Tommy Cross scored a power-play goal with 8:47 left and Zane McIntyre stopped 28 shots as the Providence Bruins beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 1-0, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday night.


The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the P-Bruins, who are in second place in the Atlantic Division behind Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

PROVIDENCE -- Tommy Cross scored a power-play goal with 8:47 left and Zane McIntyre stopped 28 shots as the Providence Bruins beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 1-0, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday night.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the P-Bruins, who are in second place in the Atlantic Division behind Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

With Zach Aston-Reese in the box for slashing, Cross took a pass from Austin Czarnik and fired a 45-foot wrister through a screen, beating Penguins goalie Andrew Peters, who made 42 saves. Peter Cehlarik was credited with the second assist.

 

The P-Bruins, who outshot the Penguins, 43-28, went 1 for 5 on the power play. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was 0 for 2.

 

Providence visits Bridgeport on Saturday night before returning home for a Sunday afternoon contest against Springfield.
