Strong comments from Chief Minister Raghubar Das aimed at JMM president Shibu Soren and his son Hemant Soren has brought already infuriated Opposition parties together in their protest against the Government. The parties in the leadership of the main Opposition JMM would continue disruptions inside the House as well as on the street.
Addressing a joint press conference after the House finally adjourned amid pandemonium for Saturday, leaders such as JMM’s Stephen Marandi, Congress’ Sukhdeo Bhagat and Manoj Yadav, JVM’s Pradeep Yadav and Marxist Coordination Arup Chatterjee said that the statement of the CM in the House was disgrace to the JMM patriarch and other bhumiputras, including his son. “Guruji is a respected figure for everyone. The CM belittled him as well as his son who was not on the chair out of anyone’s grace. He was not a migratory like the CM who has come here from Chhattisgarh. By doing this, the CM has termed all sons of the soil petty. We all have decided not to allow the House to function and also hit the streets,” said senior JMM leader Stephen Marandi. The leaders were agitated on the CM’s remark in which he said that either the father or the son duo ruled the State wherever the JMM came into power and targeted the dynastic politics prevailing in the party. He also alleged the party for the sufferings of tribals and locals under the regime.
The Opposition on its part termed the outburst from the CM uncalled for. “We all are just demanding removal of top officials due to the charges against them. How it is possible to bear accused Chief Secretary and DGP? The Government is also mum over a clear direction coming from the Election Commission to act against Anurag Gupta,” asked Marandi. JVM’s Pradeep Yadav said the Opposition was expecting something concrete from the CM, “but we are feeling very disappointed from his reply. He just said the CS committed just a mistake is not true. In fact, the CM is deliberately shielding the CS as he has got some tasks from Delhi to be done through these tainted officials. We all are together on this and he would have to remove all the three officials.” Later in the evening Opposition leaders assembled at Albert Ekka Chowk to burn the effigy of the Govt. and protested.
