“Sex in the City” star Cynthia Nixon is considering challenging New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary this year.

Nixon told NY1 she would “maybe” run against Cuomo when asked Thursday at an event encouraging women to run for public office.

Nixon’s name was floated as a potential candidate in August, but would not confirm whether she was considering a run for office.

“I think there are a lot of people who would like me to run," she told NBC’s “Today” show in August. "I think for a variety of reasons, but I think the number one is education."

“That gap now between our richest schools and our poorest schools is wider under Gov. Cuomo than it ever has been before, and that’s got to stop,” she said of New York schools.
