Director Mahendran plays the role of Udhayanidhi’s father in the film. Talking about his working experience with the legendary director, Udhay said, “It was director Mahendran who gave us the title Nimir. I feel really privileged to have shared the screen with him. I was shocked to know that he has watched a few films of mine. He said he received a lot of offers after Theri but never starred in any. He genuinely wanted to be a part of our movie, and that’s why he came on board. Even when he was not shooting, he would come and observe how Priyan sir is working instead of resting in the caravan. They both used to compliment each other very well. It was very fortunate for the entire team to witness two legends in action.”
Actor-director Samuthirakani is pitted against Udhay in the film, which marks Priyadarshan’s second association with Kani after their acclaimed Malayalam film Oppam where he locked horns with Mohanlal. “Working with Samuthirakani was a great experience. When the project was finalized, he was the first one to call me and motivate that we should deliver a successful film. He was the one who helped Priyan sir with the right casting options for the film,” said Udhay.
