Last night’s instalment of the ITV soap saw David (Matthew Wolfenden) acting very suspiciously, prompting speculation he’s cheating on wife Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh).

David’s been noticeably absent from Emmerdale in recent weeks, supposedly attending a work conference. 

What’s more, the grocery shop owner claimed he was too busy to take any of his wife’s calls, which isn’t going down well with the viewers at home. 

Fans will remember Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) declaring her love for David just before she made a sudden exit from the Yorkshire village. 

Naturally, after being ignored for weeks, during a tense dinner with Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) and Priya Kotecha (Fiona Wade),  Tracy squared up to David for an answer. 

“You know when I came in before, what were you talking to Megan about?” she asked. "You were talking about Leyla."

She continued: “You do think it's my fault she left, don't you?"

David, who had just downed a bottle of wine, sighed: "We've been over this, it's no one's fault.”

"I'm not worried about Leyla," he stressed. 

However, after his awkward confrontation with Tracy, David quickly picked up his phone. 

"I was out with Tracy," he whispered. "Leyla, I'm sorry, but this has to stop."

Fans have put two and two together and decided, David and Layela are back on.

"Emmerdale has Cain cheat on Harriet and then David on Tracy in the space of a few days?" cried one audience member.

Another cried: ”If David cheats again that's one more thing too far!"

A third noted: David is looking shady…another affair?"
