Former Xavier University star guard Edmond Sumner Tweeted on Wednesday that he's been cleared to make his debut with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants - the Indiana Pacers' G-League team - on Friday after missing the first half of his rookie season as he continues to recover from surgery to repair a torn ACL.

The Mad Ants face the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7 p.m. Friday.

Sumner was drafted in the second round in June of 2017 by the New Orleans Pelicans, then traded to the Pacers.

He missed the final 17 games of his redshirt sophomore year at Xavier after suffering the season-ending injury at St. John's almost one year ago.

Sumner averaged 11.4 points and about four assists per game over parts of three seasons at XU.
