Farmington girls too much for Midwest Central

MANITO — Farmington's size and depth prevailed in a 52-42 girls basketball win over Midwest Central on Thursday night.

The Farmers (14-4) had five players score eight-or-more points with Peyton Peckham and Megan Gilstrap scoring a team-high 11 each. Morgan Powell finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and three steals and blocks.

Midwest Central (13-8) and Farmington traded leads 14 times, with the visitors taking the final lead 37-36 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't until the Farmers knocked down free throws in the final two minutes to put the game away.

Megan Teal finished with a game-high 15 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Mady Harper scored 14 points and had seven steals.
