The Reno Gazette journal is pleased to announce its picks for the five boys for this year’s Boys All-North Tennis Team.

Athletes for the team were chosen by a committee at the RGJ, as well as through nominations and input from coaches and athletic directors. We’ll be selecting winter and spring teams after those seasons end.

One boys tennis player was perfect in the Northern 4A league tennis season.

Reno High sophomore Mikael Tiilikainen rolled through the tennis season and won the boys Northern 4A Regional singles title for the first time.

Tiilikainen beat Jacob Smith from Bishop Manogue, 6-1, 6-2, for his first regional title, after finishing third in 2016.

Nick Rinehart and William Boyden from Reno won the Northern 4A doubles title
