A 50-year-old Assistant Grade 3 employee posted at Mantralya died of cardiac arrest after he was allegedly manhandled by police personnel.
Family member of the deceased have alleged that the deceased died due to brutal beating by the police.
The deceased identified as Anant Kumar Verma and his son, Devesh Verma, at around 10.30 pm had a fight on the main road.
Seeing this, the locals came out and informed the police. Locals said that both were highly intoxicated.
The police came into picture after the neighbours informed the police about the fight between deceased and his son.
IG Bhopal, Jaideep Prasad, said that in the preliminary investigation, it was found that the deceased died of heart attack and more details could be revealed after the post mortem report is received.
The family members have alleged that they pleaded to police personnel to leave the deceased as he suffered from cardiac disorde. But the police personnel continued to beat him and this resulted in his death.
The deceased suffered cardiac arrest on his way to Habibganj police station and was rushed to JP hospital where he died.
After the death of the deceased employees created huge ruckus over the death.
Taking the matter seriously DIG Dharmendra Choudhary has instructed enquiry into the matter.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
The deceased was posted as Assistant Grade -3 employees at Vallabh Bhawan.
Injury marks over the chest and blood stains were found over the chest but police went into denial mode regarding the assault and claimed that the deceased died of cardiac attack.
