Rating: * ½

A whodunit top-lining Arbaaz Khan as the brutish investigating officer Inspector Lokhande who takes bombastic pride in being a sort of encounter specialist. He is the one assigned to solve the murder (of Mukul Dev) which has a Mumbai based Media professional, Shinaya Grover (Manjari Phadnis) arrested as prime suspect. Of course, his investigation is bound to throw up other possibilities. This one is as predictable as they come. It’s constructed with generic implacability and has little in it for the audience to enjoy.

There’s hardly any suspense or intrigue here. The director seems lost to the idea of building up tension and staccato framing with a distinct lack of guile shadow the run in painful disharmony. The writing is pedestrian, the story-telling –distinctly lacking in craft and the dialogues sound silly and defeating to the purpose of mystery. With Arbaaz Khan hogging the show it’s also stupid to expect any great acting chops. He is dashing looking but an expressionless wonder and would have been better suited to the modelling world. The rest of the cast have little to do and the technical specs are also not worthy of mention.
