Prep basketball roundup: Polo routs Forreston, Winnebago rolls over Oregon

 

Boys

Polo 68, Forreston 51

Polo was led by Braiden Soltow who finished with 19 points and had three 3-pointers. Polo had four other players finish in double figures (Brady Webb 12, Trevin Woodin 14, Reid Taylor 12, and Justin Young 10).

Polo led at halftime 43-23 and was never challenged by the Cardinals.

Winnebago 65, Oregon 50

Andrew McCrissey led Winnebago with 22 points. The 13-1 Indians had a 42-21 halftime lead and never looked back.

Pearl City 56, West Carroll 36

Pearl City went 16 of 22 from the free throw line, while Jayden Kempel scored 14 points and was 5 of 7 from the free throw line. Jacob Dunk finished with eight points for West Carroll.

Stockton 44, Eastland 40

Stockton was led by Alex Staver who had 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Kaden Henze had 15 points and Ethan Christians had 14 for Eastland.

River Ridge 60, Galena 30

Trey Thomas finished with 19 points for River Ridge. River Ridge used a 22-5 third quarter scoring advantage to pull away for the win.

East Dubuque 37, Eastland 35

East Dubuque scored 12 points in the fourth quarter for a comeback victory against Eastland. East Dubuque was behind by seven points heading into the fourth quarter.
