Mumbai: Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday visited the Chabad-Lubovitch House where he met 11-year-old Moshe Holtzberg, the survivor of 26/11 attacks. Moshe, who arrived from Israel on Tuesday to join the event, returned to the place where he was orphaned nine years ago in the terror attack under thick security blanket.

Along with Mumbai police and Traffic police, armed commando guards and Israel security cover were manning the whole lane, restricting public and vehicular movements around the premises. This is the first-ever visit by any high-ranked Israeli dignitary to Chabad House, which reopened in 2014, and is likely to be partly converted into a ‘Living Memorial’ by the end of the year. The visit lasted for almost 50 minutes.

The Israeli prime minister thanked Moshe for hosting him and showing him his room in the Chabad House. Nine years after the November 2008 terrorist attacks rocked the city and claimed 166 lives, baby Moshe returned to the Nariman House with a bittersweet feeling.

Baby Moshe’s uncle, also Moshe Holtzberg, said the connection and bond between Israel and India has only strengthened. “It is a very emotional moment for us. But one thing is clear, no one can divide India and Israel now, although terrorism tried doing that. We answered them by coming back to India,” Moshe told FPJ, who is the brother of then-director of Nariman House, Gavriel Holtzberg.
