The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday released photographs of two unidentified suspected militants who were killed in the raid on a six-storey building Rubi Villa in Dhaka's Nakhalpara on January 12.
The building raided is approximately 100 yards away from the Prime Minister's Office, said RAB officials. At least three suspected militants were killed in the raid. Only one alleged militant was identified as Mesbah Uddin of Manoharganj in Comilla.
RAB's Legal and Media Wing released the photos on Thursday seeking their identities.
Director of Wing Mufti Mahmud Khan said the photos were released so that anybody, who knows them, could inform their identities to the law enforcers.
The photos were found from the Facebook profile of Mesbah Uddin, he added. A case has been filed under Anti-Terrorism Act with Tejgaon Police Station in this connection. They were members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
The Police Headquarters circulated a list of nearly 5,000 suspected militants to all district police chiefs in 2017. Since then, the law enforcers have been carrying out special drives in different areas to apprehend the militants.
