Tread of Pioneers Museum Presents “A Taste of History: Sourdough and Its Multiple Uses”

Noon to 1 p.m. | Tread of Pioneers Museum, 800 Oak St.

Nancy Mucklow, Linda Long and others will discuss the history of sourdough. Featured recipes and tastings for the audience include sourdough biscuits and sourdough bread from the Fair Family Favorites Cookbook and vegetable beef soup.

Parents Night Out

Steamboat Springs High School Dance Showcase

This weekend’s annual Steamboat Springs High School Dance Showcase, a show that started as a senior class project and now is an extracurricular activity, is student-run and student-produced, will have shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the school auditorium. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $8 for students and senior citizens and $5 with a student activity pass. Reserved seating is $20.

Nappy Roots

8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. | Schmiggity’s, 821 Lincoln Ave.

This four-man hip-hop collective from Kentucky examines our alienable rights, reason and truth through lyrical originality and voyage. This performance features two shows. The first show kicks off at 8 p.m., and tickets are $15. The second show for those 21 and older and starts at 10:30 p.m. with tickets available for $10.

Ski Race Extravaganza: Kehoe & Haller Cup

8 a.m. | Steamboat Ski Area, 2305 Mount Werner Road

Put your ski skills to the test this weekend with the Ski Race Extravaganza: Kehoe & Haller Cup, which is open to the general public. No race experience necessary. Must be at least 15 years old. Race will be scored with NASTAR and is being held in conjunction with the Steamboat Town League Race Series. Teams consist of four people. Each team member is awarded points based on class. Storytime with Chris Zuschlag, author of "The Star Fairy"

Longtime Steamboat Springs local Chris Zuschlag wrote "The Star Fairy" for his beloved daughter, Thyme, about a little girl’s wish for wings, granted by the garden fairies in the garden she cares for, but the fairy’s magic is only so strong. What follows is a story of determination, as Thyme discovers that anything is possible if you believe. Fun for the whole family.

Date Night Pottery Wheel Class

Women's March on Steamboat Springs

Meet at Bud Werner Memorial Library to march for women's rights and human rights in general. The march will finish on the courthouse lawn with speeches from 11 to 11:30 a.m.. Bring warm layers, warm drinks and a positive message to share.

Coalition Snow and Harvest Skis Free Demo Day at Howelsen Ski Free Sunday

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Howelsen Hill

The City of Steamboat has offered FREE skiing on Sundays this winter, so enjoy those views of the resort from town up top and take out a pair of skis from the female-driven ski and snowboard company, Coalition Snow or Steamboat’s own Harvest skis, both will have booths located at the base of Howelsen Hill.
