Russians show slowdown in use of social networks

A total of 59 percent of the Russian population over 18 were users of social networks in December 2017, reports Cnews.ru citing a poll from Levada-Centre. The figure dropped by 7 percentage points from March 2017, after growing continuously since 2011 to March 2017. A total of 1,600 residents took part in the poll.

Some 65 percent of the Russian audience of social networks preferred local site VKontakte and 63 percent Odnoklassniki. The shares of Instagram, Facebook and Google+ totaled 23 percent, 20 percent and 14 percent, respectively.
