Verdict on SLPP Maharagama nomination list expected

The verdict regarding the Fundamental Rights petition filed by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna against the rejection of its nomination paper for the Maharagama Urban Council will be delivered today (Jan. 19).

The case was taken up at the Supreme Court yesterday.

Later, the Judge put off the verdict for today.

Meanwhile, 14 other petitions filed by several parties including the SLPP are also expected to be heard at the Supreme Court today.
