Friday will start out with temperatures in the 20s but we'll soon see warmer temperatures.
Some schools are still closed or starting later Friday.
The day will be mostly clear and temperatures will hit a high near 38 degrees.
Saturday through Monday, we are expected to stay above freezing. Monday will be the warmest day in the stretch with a high in the mid-50s.
This is typically the coldest time of the year in Cincinnati, according to the National Weather Service.
"Out of the 30 coldest days on record, 20 of them have occurred between January 16th and January 24th," NWS Wilmington tweeted early Friday.
Jan. 18, 1977, with a temperature of -25, is the coldest day on record for Cincinnati.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 45. A chance of rain, mainly after 10 p.m. Low around 38.
Sunday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 49, low around 43. Monday
Monday: Rain. High near 55. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40, low around 28.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.
