WAXAHACHIE

Each Waxahachie Lady Indian win on the basketball court moves head coach Lesli Priebe one victory closer to a career milestone.

The 23-year coaching veteran is now three wins shy of No. 500 after the Lady Indians took care of business Wednesday against Lancaster at George W. Solis Gymnasium.

Waxahachie jumped out to a 21-8 lead in the first quarter before hitting a bit of an offensive funk over the next three frames of the 55-44 win.

Rayna Ross recorded a double-double with a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds. Diamond Atchison scored 13 points, dished out a team-high six assists, recorded four steals and grabbed four boards.

Sarah Bush scored 10 points with four rebounds, while Mya Williams added eight points, Paris Gantt had five points, and Destini Washington rounded out the scoring with two points.

Cassidy Morgan pulled down four rebounds.

The win moved Waxahachie to 19-8 on the season and 6-2 in District 10-5A. The Lady Indians currently sit in third place in the district standings, just one game back of Mansfield Summit for the second spot.
