PUNE: Pune rural police arrested a 30-year-old man, from Peth village, on Thursday for attacking a poultry manager with a sharp weapon and trying to cut off his private parts on Wednesday night. The attack was allegedly brought on by the victim's "loose talk" about the suspect's wife.

Balasaheb Kondubhari, inspector of Lonikalbhor police, said, "On Wednesday night, suspect and the 51-year-old manager were drinking together. However, when the older man said something objectionable about the suspect's wife, he attacked the manager." After the attack, the suspect locked the injured man in a room and fled. The victim somehow contacted his friend, who took him to a hospital. The victim's condition is serious.
