FARGO—Members of the U.S. Marshals Service have arrested a woman charged in connection with the Dakota Access Pipeline protests for violating conditions of her pretrial release.
The High Plains Fugitive Task Force said a federal warrant was issued before Red Fawn Fallis was arrested without incident at Centre Inc. in Fargo around 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, according to a Marshals Service news release.
Fallis was supposed to attend GED courses at the Adult Learning Center in Fargo after signing out of Centre Inc. Thursday morning, but never showed up, according to a petition filed by Fallis' pretrial Services officer.
She was arrested about a half hour after she returned to the rehabilitation facility.
Fallis was taken to the Cass County Jail, where she'll remain in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service until further order by the court.
Fallis was charged with shooting a handgun at officers during the pipeline protests on the Standing Rock Reservation south of Bismarck, but reached a plea agreement with prosecutors that would result in her receiving less than the maximum penalty.
Court documents show that a change of plea hearing for Fallis has been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 22, in Bismarck's federal court.
