The third edition of the Bokaro International Film Festival - ‘Drishyam-3’ - will begin on Friday at DPS Bokaro. “The highlights of this two-day festival will be classic cinemas and celebrities associated with film and art”, school PR official informed.
The eminent Painter, Akhilesh will be the Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony while Senior Painter and filmmaker Shridhar Iyer along with well-known Film and Art critic Vinod Bhardwaj will be the Guest of Honour, he said.
“On the inaugural day, film ‘Modern Times’ of the famous actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin will be screened. Film Critic Vinod Bharadwaj will discuss the film with the students”, added the official.
On day two, world-renowned film ‘Turtles Can Fly’ known for its amazing artistic expression against war will be screened. Young and famous screenwriter Shivendra will talk to students on ‘Writing for audio-visual medium’, he said.
Keeping in mind, the deep link of cinema with other arts, the festival will also witness visual arts. Under the Art Dialogue programme, Akhilesh will deliver a lecture on Art Education to the art teachers of DPS and other schools of Bokaro, said DR Hemlata S Mohan the director of the film festival. “New techniques of art education will also be discussed”, she added.
