A group of Texans flew to Boston to watch an NBA game. Then they went on a crime spree, police say.
Prosecutors said a group of five Texas outlaws traveled to Boston in May to enjoy an NBA playoff game and conduct a two-day smash-and-grab crime spree throughout the city, reports the Boston Globe.
The group of thieves almost got away with $60,000 they robbed from several gas stations, but were stopped on their way home at the airport by TSA agents who noticed the suspects were carrying an abnormal amount of cash in their luggage, according to Suffolk County prosecutor Andrew Doherty.
"They know what they're doing," Doherty said during court proceedings. "These men act as if this is their business."

The group originally arrived in Boston on May 17 to watch a game between the Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, prosecutors said. Early the next day, the group began to steal vehicles and rob gas stations using crowbars and a sledgehammer to nab safes and ATM machines, reports CBS Boston.
Of the five suspects, two were extradited to Massachusetts from Dallas for trial, one suspect is already in jail in Florida, and two suspects are still at large.
Prosecutors believe the outlaws may be behind similar incidents in New Jersey and San Francisco, California.
