(Warning: This post contains spoilers from Scandal's winter premiere. Read at your own risk.)

When we last checked in with Scandal (Kerry Washington) and Rowan (Joe Morton) were engaged in a heated stand-off over Rowan's missing dinosaur bones, among other things. Picking up where we left off, Thursday night's winter premiere wasted no time in trying to convince us that Quinn might be dead.

While we do see Rowan place a woman's body into the trunk of a car and watch it subsequently explode, her face is never actually shown. So was that really Quinn or just a decoy?

However, Olivia and the QPA gladiators are under the impression that their friend has died. After all, Quinn's DNA and a piece of her clothing were found in the car along with a charred body. Devastated, her friends try their best to come to terms with what has happened and that proves to be an unbearable task for some.

Scandal Series Finale Date Announced

Charlie (George Newbern) is understandably distraught, and Abby (Darby Stanchfield) and David Rosen (Joshua Malina) hold it together by leaning on each other. Meanwhile, Huck (Guillermo Diaz) has channeled his grief into figuring out what happened to his friend. Discovering that Olivia was behind President Rashad's assassination, he thinks she may have also murdered Quinn to keep her secret. Wait until he finds out Quinn might have been killed over a set of dinosaur bones.

In a tribute befitting their fallen friend, QPA -- plus Olivia and Jake (Scott Foley) -- bid farewell by shooting rounds of bullets with Quinn's ashes in them, flashbacks of a special moment highlighting each shot. Does this mean that Quinn is really dead?

Given that Abby and David find a mysterious flash drive that Quinn left behind, it might not be so. Even more baffling, Charlie shows up on Rowan's doorstep to beg his way back into the killing game only to find a crying baby upstairs. Wait, what? The episode ends with Charlie, realizing Rowan may have had something to do with Quinn's death, choking Papa Pope.

And just like that, we're left with more questions than answers.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.
