The House Intelligence Committee on Thursday released the transcript of its interview with Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of the research firm Fusion GPS.

The release of the transcript came without nearly as much controversy as the release of the interview he gave before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which was unilaterally released by Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., this month against the wishes of Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

In this case, the House committee voted Thursday to unanimously release the transcript as soon as possible.

Fusion GPS was the firm behind the so-called "Trump dossier," which contains salacious and unverified allegations connecting President Trump to Russia.

Simpson testified behind closed doors in November, and the released and redacted transcript is more than 150 pages long.

Simpson asked both the Senate Judiciary and House Intelligence committees to make his testimony public.
