Criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party for allocating targets to its MLAs and Ministers for collection of Aajiwan Sahyog Nidhi, the Congress has accused the BJP of indulging in collection of funds for the party using dubious means. Leveling this allegation, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Pritam Singh said that the Congress will strongly protest against this.
Addressing the media at the Congress Bhawan, the PCC president alleged that the BJP is also sourcing money from the mafia active in liquor trade and mining sector in Uttarakhand. Referring to the BJP handing out targets to its MLAs and ministers for collecting funds for the party, Singh said that this will result in the people of the state being asked to shell out money in the name of the Aajiwan Sahyog Nidhi.
He further said that while the state government often talks of doubling the income of farmers, the drought-like conditions in the state are not being focused on. The state government should have undertaken an assessment of the drought condition in Uttarakhand but no such action has been taken. The PCC chief also criticised the Central and State governments for the consistent price rise.
