An alleged human trafficker named Tabrez Khan, who was arrested by Dehradun police on January 14 from Jharkhand, was brought to Dehradun on transit remand on Thursday. A case under sections 376/342/506 of IPC was registered against him in Dalanwala police station. The accused belonging to Jharkhand was sent to Suddhowala jail after being produced in the court on Thursday, police said.
Notably, Reena Munda, native of Odisha, had registered a complaint at Motinagar in Delhi and a case under sections 376/342/506 of IPC was registered against one Amarjeet Sethi and some others on December 8, 2017. Later, the case was transferred at Dalanwala police station. Police team was formed to investigate the case. Investigation revealed that Kamlesh, Renu Tura, and Upendra Sharma, both natives of Delhi, and Tabrej Khan, native of Jharkhand, were involved in trafficking of girls. Kamlesh, Renu Tura, and Upendra were arrested on December 29 last while Tabrej Khan was absconding. A team led by sub-inspectors Pratibha and Suraj Kandari and constables Chaman Kumar and Mahendrapal Singh were sent to Jharkhand to arrest the fugitive. He was arrested on January 14. While being grilled, he is said to have revealed that he operated a placement company in Delhi through which he used to send boys and girls to be engaged as domestic help in Dehradun, Delhi, Rajasthan and some other places. He is said to have further revealed that he used to earn Rs s40, 000 in the form of commissions per year from the households. It must be written here that this is going to reveal more things later on.
