Dharnas and protests were conducted at all the 128 RTC bus depots in the State by RTC employees, under the aegis of APSRTC National Mazdoor Union (NMU), on Thursday seeking an early solution to their demands.
NMU State general secretary Y. Sreenivasa Rao said the protests would be continued on Friday also and the NMU State executive would meet to chalk out the future course of action.
The main demands of the employees include: implementation of revised pay scales with effect from April 1, 2017, payment of salaries for the eight-day strike period, protection of RTC assets, implementation of ‘special leave’ for those who participated in the 60-day Samaikhyandra agitation, provision of alternative employment to drivers, who are declared unfit, regularisation of contract workers and provision of compassionate appointments to children of deceased workers.
