As former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was pronounced guilty in the disproportionate assets case, it’s immoral and unethical to honour a convict (“I-T department hands over sealed rooms at Veda Nilayam to Collector”, Jan. 18). The Tamil Nadu government should drop this idea and the place of her burial can be treated as a memorial. Her popularity is not the sole criterion for honouring her.
