(MENAFN) A winter storm that led to the death of four people in southern USA has brought record low temperatures on to parts of the region, where it covered roads with ice, broke powerlines and prompted public school closures.
Freezing temperatures and snow were also forecast for the mid-Atlantic region and much of New England through Thursday.
In Austin, Texas, a vehicle plunged off a frozen bridge killing a man in his 40s, while an 82-year-old woman who suffered from dementia was found dead behind her Houston-area home, likely due to exposure to the cold, and In Georgia, two people were fatally hit by a car that slid on an ice patch near Macon.
