It has almost become a trend for couples to quit jobs and travel the world. Ron and Baew Spaulding from Thailand one such people who are globetrotting with a twist, they fly kites wherever they go. The couple has been travelling for over 20 years for the love of kites. They met each other in Thailand where Ron was working as a graphic designer. They soon realised their similar loves for kite flying and have been working and travelling together. No sooner they were soon as the ‘Kite Couple’. They know about varying type of kites in the country and do not encourage kite flights like in India as it is dangerous to participants and harmful to the environment.

In an exclusive interview with Hyderabad Times, Ron said, “Flying kites has helped us strengthen our bond. Else traditionally, the man plays golf and the woman stays at home waiting and then nobody is happy. Kite flying is about collaborations and the community. My message for the people would be — take your grandparents and grandchildren, in fact, the whole family out and fly kites together in the open grounds, in the fresh air with a fresh mind. And then you will be creating so many memories.”
