WATCH: Rutgers' Corey Sanders throws down thunderous dunk

Corey Sanders put a loud exclamation point on Rutgers' commanding win over Iowa.

The junior guard delivered a thunderous dunk with 1:26 left in the Scarlet Knights' 80-64 win over the Hawkeyes on Wednesday night at the Rutgers Athletics Center in Piscataway.

"A really good team win today," Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell said. "Everybody contributed. They were locked in. Played great team defense, and now we're on to Michigan (on Sunday)."

Sanders led the Scarlet Knights with 18 points. He went 6-for-13 from the field, 6-for-7 on free throws and finished with eight assists. Rutgers bounced back from a ugly 68-46 home loss to Ohio State on Sunday. The Scarlet Knights turned in one of their best offensive showings of the season despite the absence of senior guard Mike Williams, who is out indefinitely with a leg injury.

"I think (Rutgers) played with great energy, I think they were connected, they played with great composure and they shared the ball," Iowa coach Fran McCaffery said. "That was the key for them."

Rutgers (12-8, 2-5 Big Ten) recorded its first win in six tries against Iowa (10-10, 1-6). The Hawkeyes lost for the fourth time in five games, while the Scarlet Knights won for just the second time in six outings since their mid-December win over rival Seton Hall.
