A 13-year-old girl stabbed another teenager and injured a staff member at a Hastings-on-Hudson residential treatment facility over the weekend, according to police.

The injured teenager suffered a "superficial" stab wound to the chest and a lacerated hand when she tried to break up a fight between the suspect and a staff member of Graham Windham, Hastings police said.

The staff member suffered a laceration to the lip, but police said it isn't clear if the injury was from a knife or being hit.

The 13-year-old, whose name wasn't released because of her age, was arrested Saturday night and charged with two counts of second-degree assault, felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

Her case was transferred to family court because of her age this week.

Graham Windham is a New York City-based nonprofit that oversees the school's educational and residential programs.

A representative didn't return calls for a comment.

Hastings Police Lt. David Dosin said a large chunk of their calls come from Graham Windham.

"And what's more alarming now is the calls are more and more violent," he said.
