EU is ‘pouring PETROL’ to REIGNITE Remainer’s calls for another referendum, expert warns
THE European Union is trying to “pour” petrol on the fire of a second Brexit referendum and have put “momentum” back into the Remain camp, an analyst has warned.
The European Union’s attempts to bring Britain back into the fold and stop Brexit is a case of “epic trolling”, Michael Hewson, Chief Market Analyst for CMC Markets, has warned.
Speaking to Bloomberg, he said: “That’s epic trolling mate.
“But I think what this boils down to is something that Mr Farage said last week when he was on a Channel 5 chat show, I think Matthew Wright, and suggested that he was starting to come round to the idea of a second Brexit referendum and that’s sort of like clickbait to most people."
Hewson warned that is might have actually reignited the Remain camp.

This is the European Union’s way of trying to pour a little bit of petrol on that particular fire
He said: “I think really it’s put a little bit of momentum behind the Remain camp who ultimately do want a second referendum.
“I think this is the European Union’s way of trying to pour a little bit of petrol on that particular fire, or gasoline, as you guys in the states call it.”
European officials have desperately appealed to the British people to reverse Brexit over the last few days, after Mr Farage’s call for a second referendum to silence Remoaner’s last week.
President of the European Council Donald Tusk said the EU would embrace the UK if Britain changes its mind about Brexit.
Speaking in European Parliament on Tuesday, Tusk said: “If the UK government sticks to its decision to leave, Brexit will become a reality with all its negative consequences in March next year.
“Unless there is a change of heart amongst our British friends.
“Wasn’t it David Davis himself who said if a democracy cannot change its mind it ceases to be a democracy?
“We here on the continent haven’t had a change of heart, our heart’s are still open to you.”
Jean-Claude Juncker backed Mr Tusk’s remark as he made a plea to lure the UK back into the EU.
Speaking on Wednesday, he said: ““Mr Tusk said that our hands remain outstretched.
“The British people, the British government may wish to find a different way out of the Brexit situation, we’re very much willing to deal with them.
“We are not throwing the British out, we would like the British to stay and if they so wish they should be allowed to do so.”
