Report: Little Compton family drives to fire station to report fire at their home

LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. -- A family had to drive to the fire station in Little Compton to report that their house was on fire, according to WPRI.com.

Fire knocked out the land line to the home on Old Farm Road and their cell phones didn't have service, Little Compton Fire Chief Richard Petrin tol WPRI.

Crews responded just after midnight and saw fire shooting out of the garage roof.

The garage and a car were destroyed but the house sustained only smoke and water damage, so the family should be able to return to it after its cleaned up, Petrin told WPRI.
