The Dunkin' Donuts coffee shop chain has opened what it is touting as a "next generation" concept store featuring a revamped decor, amenities and menu, the company said this week.
Even the name is different. The Quincy, Massachusetts, store, located near where the first of the chain's shops opened nearly 70 years ago, is known simply as "Dunkin'".
The new store includes a designated drive-thru lane for customers who use the Dunkin' app, in-store kiosks that allow customers to place orders themselves and a new layout intended to make the most of natural light.
Some of the new food and beverage offerings include "premium pour" drinks like nitro-infused cold brew coffee served using beer-style taps. More fruits, vegetables and specialty food choices -- including beef jerky -- are also part of the expanded menu.
Shake Shack plans to open at least 4 new locations in N.J.
"The launch of our next generation concept store marks one of the most important moments in Dunkin' Donuts' growth as an on-the-go, beverage-led brand," Dave Hoffmann, President of Dunkin' Donuts U.S. and Canada said in a statement.
"We are thrilled to begin the New Year with such an exciting milestone for our brand, and look forward to rolling out Dunkin' Donuts' store of the future to our guests in all of our communities," he also said.
Based in Canton, Massachusetts, Dunkin' Donuts has 12,000 locations in 45 countries.
