Netrakona: A district court has convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing a school headmaster in Barhatta upazila in 2015.
The court also fined the convict-- Kala Chan, 44-- Tk 20,000.
District and Sessions Judge KM Rasheduzzaman Raja handed down the verdict on Thursday.
The court, however, acquitted three accused as their guilt was not proved. They are : Emdadul Haque, Fuad Khan and Md Bhasani.
According to the prosecution, Kala Chan hacked dead Arjun Biswas, the head teacher of Monash Government Primary School in Barhatta, on December 2, 2015.
Kalachan of Choigaon village, brother of a member of the school's managing committee, killed Arjun following a conflict between the school committee and teachers over construction at the school.
Later, the victim's wife Maya Rani filed a case with Barhatta Police Station in this connection accusing four people.

After examining the witnesses and evidences, the court found Kalachan guilty and delivered the judgmenet.
