Mysuru looks to build its brand

more-in

Close on the heels of Bengaluru getting a logo of its own, the State’s cultural capital will soon be marketed as ‘Brand Mysuru’ in a bid to promote it as a distinct entity to shore up its tourism potential.

It will be on the lines of the recently launched Brand Bengaluru. The aim is to leverage the city’s unique selling propositions (USP) and vie for greater tourist attention and capital investment.

Promoting Brand Mysuru, according to the authorities, is expected to stimulate competitiveness and result in a positive impact on investments and jobs, making it a win-win situation for visitors as well as locals. It is also expected to shore up returns on investment infrastructure and events, and help in the coherent development of the city blending its physical, social, economic and cultural aspects to deliver the brand promise, thereby increasing the city’s attractiveness.

This was announced by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep after a meeting with officials to review the concept. He said the logo and design of the brand would be selected on the basis of an open competition. The proposed Brand Mysuru should encompass the city’s core values, characteristics and aspirations, besides establishing insights into the needs of the global audience. It can also be a big idea to inspire for years to come, as per the concept.

The last date to submit the design and logo is February 7. For details, contact the office of the Deputy Director of Tourism, first floor, Hotel Mayura Hoysala, JLB Road, or call 0821-2422 096
