NAB summons Shehbaz Sharif over housing scam

The National Accountability Bureau in has issued a notice to Chief Minister asking him to appear before a combined investigation team (CIT) in connection with an alleged graft in a housing scheme.

According to The Express Tribune, a notice was dispatched on Wednesday by the NAB to Sharif's residence, which asked him to appear on January 22 before the CIT.

Yesterday, the day opposition parties joined hands in to demand Sharif's resignation.

Earlier in July 2015, the NAB had launched investigations into the matter after a protest and a press conference by those affected in the project.

Reportedly, the was a housing project owned by a of the ruling party.

It was also reported that it is one of the biggest housing scams in the country.
