A Newmanstown man was taken to Hershey Medical Center for a serious injury sustained in a near-head-on collision Tuesday in Heidelberg Township.
Timothy Lapp, 32, was the passenger in a vehicle operated by Jacob Lapp, 74, Newmanstown, who was traveling south in the area just south of Dutchway, 2483 Stiegel Pike, at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle drifted across the divider line into the northbound lane, state police at Lickdale said.
Darla McKim, 74, Richland, was operating her vehicle in the northbound lane as Lapp's vehicle crossed the divider line and was struck almost head on, according to state police.
The Lapps and McKim were all transported to Hershey Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash. Jacob Lapp and McKim both received minor injuries while Timothy Lapp is listed with a serious injury.

Schaefferstown, Keystone and Goodwill fire companies, fire police, Schaefferstown Community Ambulance, Newmanstown Ambulance, the Myerstown First Aid Unit and the First Aid and Safety Patrol assisted police on the scene.
