Ujjain: CM inaugurates vikas yatra, antyodaya mela in Tarana

Ujjain: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan inaugurated various construction works totaling Rs 282 crores, during vikas yatra and antyodaya mela in Tarana on Wednesday. Prior to this, he inaugurated the antyodaya mela at Dussehra ground near Tilbhandeshwar Temple of Tarana by lighting a lamp and garlanding photo of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay.
The CM stated that the bhavantar payment scheme was launched to give farmers fair value for their crops and would soon be applied to the whole nation. As per the scheme, the difference between support price and sale price is calculated and the amount is transferred to accounts of farmers. With this, the administration claims to have got rid of hassles in purchasing, and the money, they say, is being directly deposited to farmers’ accounts. In Ujjain district alone, about Rs 80 crores are being distributed to the accounts of about 75,000 farmers for kharif crops.
During the programme, the CM agreed to demands of MLA Anil Firoziya and announced that Makdon would be granted a tehsil status. In addition to this, he also announced restoration of 11 ponds in the area, approval of Ghosla-Karedi Mata-Shajapur road, opening ITI in Tarana, starting a commerce department at Makdon College, sanctioning required funds for infrastructure development in Tarana’s Krishi Upaj Mandi, road construction to connect various villages in the region, conducting inspection for Borkheri dam scheme, sanctioning requisite funds for the building of the bar association, removal of drinking water problem in village Godari, Tejalakhedi and Kathdi and approval of chief minister drinking water scheme in villages having a population of more than one thousand.
Energy minister Paras Jain, MP Chintamani Malviya, Rajya Sabha member Satyanarayan Jatiya, Mahamandaleshwar Prakashanand Bharti and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
