You may have already heard the exciting news that the cult classic film Heathers is getting a TV series reboot, but now you can watch the first trailer for the series and decide for yourself whether this reboot is magic or mediocre.
Honestly, we dare you to pick the second choice with a straight face.
Even from the first glance, it's easy to tell that Heathers has been totally updated for a modern audience (the well-to-do white girl Heathers of the film have been updated with Heathers from marginalized groups), while still maintaining the raunchy, scathing humor that the original film was known for. Alongside famous lines like, "F--- me gently with a chainsaw," we'll also get some new zingers about body positivity, the genderqueer, and irony being so over.
The trailer also gave us our first peeks at cameos from original Heathers stars Shannen Doherty and Selma Blair, which we'll pretend we're not already squealing about.
Heathers premieres Wednesday, March 7 at 10/9c on Paramount.
