PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles head Coach Doug Pederson is going to have to continue to fortify his reputation as an innovative play caller in order to win the NFC Championship Game Sunday afternoon against the Minnesota Vikings, and their No. 1 overall defense in the NFL.

The Vikings finished the regular season allowing an average of only 275.9 yards per game. Minnesota was also the league's No. 2 rated rushing defense while surrendering only 83.6 yards per game, trailing only the Eagles in that category.

During an appearance on NJ Advance Media's The No Huddle Show podcast, Vikings beat reporter Arif Hasan of Zone Coverage Minnesota revealed that the key for the Eagles' offense to get any traction against Mike Zimmer's menacing defense is to get the ball in wide receiver Nelson Agholor's hands early and often.

"I think the biggest matchup for the Eagles in this game is Nelson Agholor," Hasan said. "He's kind of been playing out of his mind this year, and he'll be against McKenzie Alexander in the slot, or Terence Newman, they kind of rotate those two based on whether or not they think it's going to be a running down. It's going to be tough, I think for McKenzie or Newman to keep up with Agholor. That's where a big part of the matchup is going to be for the Eagles."

Saturday against the Falcons in the NFC Divisional Playoffs, the Eagles made a conscious effort to get the ball into Agholor's hands in space, particularly on an end-around off a fake-pitch to Jay Ajayi that yielded a 21-yard run down the sideline.
